Yass High School’s band successfully competed in a number of sections of the Australian National Eisteddfod held at the ANU’s Llewellyn Hal on Saturday May 28 2005

Yass High School won 2 sections, and were awarded a Highly Commended in the Open Concert Bands B Grade

Adjudicator Martin Hardy B. Mus. Ed, M. Mus., A Mus. A., conductor. music teacher and Senior Education officer for the Department of Education and Training noted in his comments given to the bands after their performance that Yass High band was very impressive.

“The band played really well. Their musicianship and the way that they followed the conductor is to be commended.

“It was a very fine performance. Stage presentation was very good. They had excellent balance and blended, were disciplined and were wonderfully controlled,”
