Since his first exhibition in 1982 Peter has achieved extraordinary success as a glass artist. He has exhibited in Australia, the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Italy and Puerto Rico. His work is held in private collections and in the permanent collections of public galleries all over the world.

For more than twenty years, internationally renowned glass artist Peter Crisp has been fascinated and continually challenged by the qualities of the material: “something crushed, something broken, something refused, something placed onto a mould, something fired to high temperatures in a kiln, all words used to describe the techniques used by me every day. Heat is the magical catalyst that transforms the particles of sand, time and imagination into original works of art.”

Inspired by Ancient Egyptian, Byzantine, Celtic, Aztec and Islamic art, the platters, panier bowls, human torsos and vessels combine pate de verre with soda glass, then fused with 22ct gold and platinum to create reminders of the past and objects for the future.

Peter has had more than twenty solo exhibitions and been included in many group exhibitions both in Australia and overseas. In 1998, the Canberra Museum and Gallery, honoured his work with a solo exhibition. He has received significant awards for his work including Rotary International's Award for Excellence in 1996, and winner of the Chief Minister's Export Awards in Canberra in 2001.

Bombay Sapphire Gin chose Peter as one of only three feature artists for their worldwide promotional campaign and the commissioned chalice is a memorable piece of glass work. Peter's work is in many collections including National Gallery of Victoria; National Glass Collection, Wagga; Powerhouse Museum, Sydney; Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane; Coburg Glasmuseum, Germany; Glasmuseum Ebeltoft, Denmark.
